Hello again, I’m back with another fun holiday design, this time it’s watermarble peppermint swirls!
This design is a little trickier than some others I’ve done recently, but watermarbling is a skill that requires both practice and the right polish. I’d even argue that having the right polish is the more important factor.
Check out the video for the full tutorial, all the polishes and tools used are listed in the video description
You may have noticed in the video that the design SMEARED when I applied the top coat. You may also have noticed that the design on my ring finger after the watermarble dip was weird and ugly. In the end I did this design three times to get a design I liked and then I just skipped the top coat because I was so paranoid of smearing it again.
I let it dry a whole day and then tried top coat again and it still smeared. It’s clear I either need to work on my application (I definitely did the whole flood & float thing, so it’s not that) or pick up a different brand to see if that fixes the problem. Any personal favourites? Bonus points if they’re available in Canada. Those customs fees are killer.
I’m taking a couple of weeks off work over the holidays and I am so unbelievably ready. What are your holiday plans?
