My last design of 2016: a soft and sophisticated New Years’ Eve Bubbly Champagne design!
This design combines the use of gradients, stamping, and striping tape for a shimmery, pretty design perfect for New Years’ Eve. Watch the video below to see how I made this look:
I originally wanted to have the bubbly stamp cover the whole nail, but I couldn’t see where it was on the opaque stamp and ended up misplacing it. Rather than removing the polish and starting again, I just went with it and tried creating an edge with striping tape.
I ended up loving the unintended look – the pink striping tape brought these back to the gradient on the other nails. It also reminds me of the rim of a glass full of bubbly champagne, which fits my intention perfectly.
I also really love how smooth the gradient is. I’m by no means skilled at gradients, but these polishes just worked so well blending together, even though the silver is shimmery and the pink is a slightly metallic formula (that can be pretty streaky on its own if not applied carefully).
All together, I really love how this one turned out. Sometimes they turn out as you imagined, and sometimes they’re much worse. But this one came together better than I could have hoped, and I think that’s a good sign for the new year.
Happy New Year everyone!
