Still alive, took a little break from posting here but I’m keeping a little more active on my instagram.
But today I’m back with a nice springy gradient fishtail design!
This is a pretty easy design (well, as easy as any design that uses striping tape can be). Especially if you only do it on one or two nails and then use the gradient colours as a sort-of ombre effect on the other nails.
I often see designs similar to this using nail vinyls, which are great but are kinda expensive for something you only get to use on one nail. This is where striping tape is great – it’s incredibly cheap and while you can still only use it on one nail, the rolls are huge so you get a lot more out of them. The drawback of course is that it’s pretty irritating to work with. And, in designs like this, to remove 😉
Check out the video below to see how I did it:
Looking at it now I would change the muted mint green for a more vibrant yellow, but other than that I’m pretty happy with how this one turned out.
I’ve been in a bit of a nail art funk lately, made worse by my total lack of motivation to edit videos. I actually did this design back in February and it’s taken me this long to get around to actually editing the videos. I have three more in the same state but I’m hoping to get back in to the routine and get my posting back to around once a week with videos.
But we’ll see! Until next time, whenever that ends up being 😉
