Cutting it a bit close to the wire, but here’s my final Christmas-themed design for the year – Christmas Eve Cozy Fireplace nail art 🙂
This design is more technical than most of my other designs, and requires more tools, but is still very approachable for a beginner. Check out the video below to see how I did it!
You’ll need foil and foil glue, a striping brush, another small brush, and small red flat-backed gems.
I was ready to put nail foils aside for a while after my rainbow gradient, but was inspired by an Instagram follower to give a layered design a try. I thought a fire would be perfect for a layered design, and that would fit in perfectly with a Christmas eve cozy fireplace design.
It turned out exactly how I’d imagined, but as a warning it was definitely time-consuming to wait for the glue to dry after every round!
I’m still working on my freehand skills, so I used acrylic paint over a quick-dry top coat. This is a good trick if you want to be able to erase your mistakes, as you can gently correct your shape and lines using a toothpick or other small tool.
I also used acrylic paint for the holly garland, which I topped off with small red gems for the berries.
I’m hoping to get a couple of New Years’ designs up in the next week, time permitting of course. I may have time off work but that all seems to redirected to family functions this time of year!
Merry Christmas, Happy Holidays, and until next time!
